Our Classroom:
We continue to learn and grow together as a thoughtful community. Your children are working hard every day!
Homework is written in agendas/planners and checked daily. Some assignments have extended due dates. Please help your child keep track of their homework and make sure to bring it in completed on time. Homework slips have started coming home when 2 days of homework assignments have been missed. Thank you for your support!
ELA:
We have finished reading Number the Stars and really enjoyed all of our conversations and learning moments about the book and the history it encompasses! Final projects are due next week, April 4. These are mostly at-home projects.
We are going to spend some time learning about non-fiction features, poetry, main idea, and summarizing as we prepare to start our final novel, The Tale of Despereaux.
In writing we are working on persuasive essays that connect our learning of this style of writing along with science.
Math:
We are now learning to multiply fractions and will soon move into dividing fractions. Students have been fantastic at working and learning together in the classroom!
Social Studies:
We are continuing to learn about the actions and events that led up to the Revolutionary War, and will soon begin to learn about the war itself. Students are also practicing their skills for reading for meaning and thinking critically about a text in order to understand it.
Science:
We are currently learning all about ecosystems and how plants and animals survive and take care of one another.
As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to schedule a conference, feel free to send me a note, email me at [email protected], or call the school at (781) 344 - 7007. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Our classroom website is up as well at http://mrsgerofsky.weebly.com. Thank you so much for your time!
I really appreciate being able to work together to educate your children! Please remember to reach out if you’d like to talk more!
